Don’t throw away crystallized honey!

Make sure to remove the lid before microwaving. Heat the honey bottle for 15 seconds—don’t overheat the crystallized honey. Just warm it enough to loosen it, then use one chopstick to stir it up and pour it into a wide-mouth glass jar. If it crystallizes later, you can easily use a small spoon to scoop it.

I used to toss away crystallized honey, but it was a waste of perfectly good honey. I would like to share with you a life hack.

I warmed up two bottles of crystallized honey in the microwave for about 15 seconds—just enough to make them easier to pour. Then I transferred the honey into a clean, wide-mouth jar so I can scoop it out with a spoon more easily. I’m glad I didn’t throw the honey away!

I looked it up, and it’s safe to reuse and store honey that has been gently warmed, as long as it’s kept in a clean, airtight container after it cools.

Don’t store honey in the refrigerator! Refrigeration makes honey crystallize even faster. The best place to store it is in a cool, dry pantry at room temperature.
