There is no secret to health: to be healthy, two main things you need to do: Exercise and eat healthy. Anything short of this is a make-believe.
There is no secret other than eating right and exercise regularly. Here are my favorite exercises to keep me in good shape and spirit: Exercise Videos. I love doing video exercises. Just hook up the TV with your computer with a HDMI connector. There are so many excellent exercise/fitness youtube videos you can explore. Rain or shine, you can do exercises anytime at the comfort of your home!
Although exercise and healthy diet are equally important to health, I am going to concentrate on eating healthy for this post. I will share a tip with you on how never run out of a healthy meal to eat. When you run out of an idea for a healthy meal to prepare, you can always just stir-fry and make a healthy meal. Cooking and Eating like a Chinese is a great way to stay thin.
To make sure you always have a healthy meal to eat, these are the things I suggest you stock up in your freezer and refrigerator:
- Frozen meat: chicken, pork, fish, shrimp, etc.
- Frozen grains: cooked brown rice, mixture of grains and beans, etc. (You can buy them from Trader Joe or you can make them yourself and freeze them in sandwich bags)
- Always, and I truly mean always, have fresh vegetables and fruits in your refrigerator.
- Always keep and replenish onion, ginger, garlic on your counter.
- Eggs, of course.
The easiest way to come up with a healthy meal is stir-fry. Of course, it would be best to use fresh meat, but if they run out, you can use frozen meat instead. When you use frozen meat, you can either thaw it in the refrigerator over night or defrost it in the microwave or put it in a plastic bag and thaw it with cold water.
I make sure I stock up on the above items so I can easily prepare something healthy.
Today I cooked myself a very healthy chicken dish with a bunch of vegetables.
This healthy meal includes the following ingredients:
Add the egg white, a little bit of corn starch, sesame oil, and salt and pepper to marinade the diced chicken).
1. Add oil to two different pans. One for cooking meat and one for cooking veggies. For meat dish, you should use a nonstick pan. First add oil to both pan and then add ginger, garlic and green chili into the hot pan.
Then in the nonstick pan, add the chicken and in another pan add the veggies (harder veggies go in first). Stir fry them in separate pans. You can add a bit of soy sauce into the stir-fried chicken. When chicken is done on both sides, then add the cooked veggies into the chicken and continue to stir fry a bit.
Then add salt and pepper. Make sure not to put too much. Try not to eat too salty. Towards the last minute, I add starchy water (about 1/3 cup and 1 spoon corn starch). If it gets too thick as you cook, you can always add more water into the pan.
If you like, you can add some chili paste into the dish before serving them.
Just eat this meal with cooked rice.
Stir fry is an easy way to eat healthy. Just add all kinds of veggies and cook them with garlic and ginger and add it to cooked meat. You can switch veggies and switch meats and you can come up with a new dish by different ingredients.
It is hard not to eat healthy, if stir-fry more.
