Since cooking or heating up food with high heat is not the healthiest way to prepare for food and can produce Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) that cause aging process in our body inside and out, today I used “steaming” to heat up leftover chicken. I also steamed fresh vegetables.
I have also made a pot of porridge with millet and some chia seeds (Made this 15 min earlier before you steam other food).
It was an easy way to come up with a healthy meal using the leftover meat I had.
The porridge: 1/2 cup millet and one table spoonful of chia seeds and enough water to make a porridge. I just boiled them and then simmered for about 15 to 20 min.
For steamed veggies, just add garlic powder, salt, pepper and drizzle a bit of extra virgin oil before serving.
Simple and tasty! Also super healthy!
